Philip Glass’ opera ‘Einstein on the Beach‘ had its UK premiere at the Barbican in London on 4th May.

We are proud to have exclusive images of composer, Philip Glass and theatre director, Robert Wilson working on the original production of the opera in 1976.  Taken by Lebrecht photographer Betty Freeman, the images show the composer and director collaborating for the first time at a rehearsal space in Manhattan, New York.

From photographer Marion Kalter, we also have pictures from the famous production in Bobigny, France in 1993.
