DE AGOSTINI AND ITALY by Lebrecht

Unsurprisingly, the De Agostini collection is awash with Italian related images – so far we have over 4000 images online from this vast archive.

The collection includes frescoes, sculptures and jewellery from the great Roman, Pompei and Etruscan civilisations in ancient times, as well as examples of tombs, red and black figure pottery and ampitheatres. Moving on to later years there are great Renaissance paintings, such as work by Correggio, Bassano, Pierro della Francesca, nineteenth century portraits of politicans and creators of the arts and the important nationalist figures from Italian history such as Garibaldi .

This is a rich source of everything you ever thought of that relates to Italian history.
