Actor Peter Gilmore, who headed the cast of long-running BBC seafaring drama The Onedin Line, has died at the age of 81.

Artist Neale Osborne, one of the most original contributors to Lebrecht Music & Arts, has created modern caricatures of all the actors who have ever played the iconic BBC sci-fi role of Doctor Who on television and film. This cult television favourite was first broadcast on 23 November 1963.

Victor Spinetti, who died on 18 June 2012, was a Welsh comedy actor, author, poet and raconteur. He was a well known actor in Britain and appeared in a huge number of films and stage plays throughout his 50-year career . He is best remembered today for appearing in the three Beatles’ films in the 1960s, A Hard Day’s Night, Help! and Magical Mystery Tour. He also performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company in many of their productions.
